On Friday, American gambling company DraftKings took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce that a Michigan player won a massive $57,936 prize. The lucky winner landed this win while spinning the reels of the slot game “Superstars” from software vendor NetEnt.

The post did not include any further information regarding the player’s identity or the stake amount for the winning bet. But we know that Superstars accepts bets between a minimum of $0.10 and a maximum of $100.

Note

There are different definitions of the term “jackpot” across the casino realm. While it sometimes refers to a large standalone prize offered by a single game, a progressive jackpot links many games/players to the same prize pool, whereas a percentage of each player’s wager will count towards the prize.

Superstars is not a progressive jackpot game. It is a regular slot game offering moderate payouts, reaching up to 4,596 times the initial bet. The game has an RTP of 94.06%, medium to high variance, and bonus features such as free spins and multipliers.

It seems that big wins are becoming a monthly occurrence for DraftKings Casino, with another lucky player from the Great Lakes State hitting a jackpot on February 26. The player landed a $907,013.55 win on Boom Entertainment’s Lucky Money Tree, on a wager of $0.10.

DraftKings offers one of Michigan’s largest selections of progressive jackpot slots from top software vendors, including around 50 titles within constantly growing prize pools.

It’s worth pointing out that winning a jackpot is a long shot, with odds of 10,000,000 to 1. So while the prizes are tempting, there is no guarantee of winning them.

Founded in 1996, NetEnt is a Swedish supplier of casino games, including online slots, table games, and live dealer games. The company’s games have been available on Michigan online casinos since the state launched online gaming on January 22, 2021.
